Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshihashi Sato! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jun Li Chen! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sato throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chen on the side of the head. Chen dives in and scores a takedown into Sato's guard. Chen looking to pass the guard. Chen keeps trying to improve his position. Chen stops Sato from standing up. Chen throws a big right hand that misses. Chen working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sato's head. Chen works a leg free and moves into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chen is nestled in close to Sato, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Sato is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Chen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Chen working the head and body with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sato is just riding it out for now. Chen eventually gives up the hold. Chen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Chen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chen in particular looking to stall. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chen slips a nice elbow through Sato's hands, connecting with Sato's forehead. Chen uses his free foot to push down on Sato's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sato. Chen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Chen with good strikes from the mount here! Sato is bucking up trying to escape but Chen cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Chen content just to control the position here. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sato's face.
Chen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Chen looking to secure an arm triangle but Sato defends it well. Chen controlling the pace for now. Chen scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chen has hold of Sato's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Sato manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Chen putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Chen punishing his opponent with strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sato really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Chen landing strikes, looking to finish! Sato tries to hold on but Chen postures up. BOOM! Chen connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Jun Li Chen dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Chen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chen is putting a hurting on Sato here, landing some big shots from side control. Chen cracks Sato with a big elbow. Chen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Sato some visible discomfort.
Sato is rocked! Chen scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sato to see if he's OK. Oh Sato is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Chen landing a few strikes. Chen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Sato knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chen on the ground. This has been an exciting period of action! Sato on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Chen is trying to get an arm triangle but Sato is defending well. Chen moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Chen lands some shots froms side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chen working the head and body with strikes. Sato looking for a sweep but Chen has passed into full mount! Oh no! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Whack. That's a big, big shot from Chen! Sato is out cold! This one is all over!
