Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Strange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keisuke Takasugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Keisuke Takasugi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Strange! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keisuke Takasugi! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strange misses with a wild body shot. And Takasugi tries to counter it with a takedown but Strange pushes his down on his head and steps out. Strange lands a slapping body shot.
Strange forces Takasugi back against the cage and clinches. Strange has clasped his hands together around Takasugi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Takasugi tries to get back to half guard but can't. Strange is looking to take a break and control but Takasugi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Strange tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Strange controlling from side mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strange throwing strikes but Takasugi manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Strange is looking to reverse the position. Strange defending against the ground and pound. Takasugi scores with punches from side control. Strange dodges the ground and pound from Takasugi. You can see the frustration on Strange's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Strange managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Takasugi.
Strange tries to get back to half guard but can't. Strange's coaches at Mello MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Takasugi remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Takasugi working away. Takasugi lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Strange down.
Strange tries to improve position but can't. Takasugi is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Strange will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Takasugi is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Strange looks calm but he's in trouble here. Takasugi gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Strange is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Takasugi lets go of the hold and Strange can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Keisuke Takasugi! After winning the bout, Keisuke Takasugi thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. The defeated Simon Strange had this to say: 'FFS, can't seem to catch a break at the moment.'.
