Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laaka Mato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Have Heart - Armed With A Mind. Laaka Mato has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danny Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Laaka Mato! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charles gets a clinch. Mato wants to get back to striking at distance but Charles won't allow it.
Charles is looking to take this one to the mat. Mato misses with the head strike.
Mato is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Charles is keeping busy. Charles works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Mato tries to stall but Charles uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mato tries to break the clinch but Charles is controlling the position. Both guys are working to get underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mato being controlled against the cage. Charles unloads a knee to the mid-section. Mato lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Charles as Mato tries to tie him up. The referee is keeping an eye on Charles - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Laaka Mato. Charles has Mato up against the cage in a clinch.
Mato is trying to break the clinch but Charles is controlling him. Charles breaks the clinch.
Mato lands a glancing blow to the side of Charles's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles gets a clinch. Charles breaks from the clinch.
Charles shoots in but no luck this time. Mato looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Charles misses with a takedown attempt - Mato sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Charles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mato lands with a nice body punch. Mato dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Charles tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A little jabbing left from Mato on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Charles closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Charles pulls Mato into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mato avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mato not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles is looking for a triangle but Mato pushes his legs off easily.

Charles is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mato defends well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Charles looking for a guillotine here but Mato defends easily.
Charles wants to stand but Mato is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Charles is looking for a triangle but Mato pushes his legs off easily.
Charles can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mato controls the pace. Mato really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Charles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Charles looking to control.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Charles dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mato throws a jab but it's blocked by Charles. Charles shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mato pinned against the cage. Mato gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A shot to the liver by Mato. Beautiful body shot. Mato lands with a shot to the body. Mato lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Mato swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Charles clinches up against the cage. Mato tries to break free but Charles pushes him back against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Charles as Mato tries to tie him up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mato taking a breather. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Charles. Mato is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Mato preventing the sweep. Mato engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Charles wants to sweep here but Mato controlling him for the moment. Mato must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Charles is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Charles is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charles looking for a guillotine from mount but Mato is having none of it. Charles manages to capitalize on a mistake by Mato to take his back! Charles missing with strikes. Charles trying to control. Charles has his arm under Mato's chin here. Game over son! Charles squeezes tightly and Mato is forced to tap out!
