Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between lucas Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bico Sul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). lucas Araujo could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bico Sul's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, lucas Araujo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bico Sul! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sul throws a right and a left that both miss. Araujo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sul feints and as Araujo raises his hands in defense, Sul changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Araujo wants to sweep but no luck. Sul seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Sul looking to pass the guard. Sul gets to his feet. Araujo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Araujo rushes Sul and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Sul tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Sul closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sul connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Araujo some visible discomfort.
Sul decides to stand up, so the ref orders Araujo to his feet. Araujo misses with a two punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Sul with that takedown attempt. lucas Araujo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sul shoots in and drives through. Araujo sprawls well. lucas Araujo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bico Sul. Araujo lands with a kick to the temple. Sul shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Araujo gets in close and instigates a clinch. Araujo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Araujo has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Araujo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sul moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Araujo throws a head kick that Sul semi-blocks.
Sul scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Araujo is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Araujo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Sul chips away with some ground and pound. Sul has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Despite being in the dominant position, Bico Sul just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Araujo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Sul. Sul misses with a takedown attempt enabling Araujo to counter with a crisp jab. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Sul scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sul tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sul has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bico Sul will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Sul fails with a takedown attempt. Sul shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Araujo but Araujo pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Araujo lands a jab-cross combination. A low kick from Sul misses and Araujo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Sul takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sul shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sul showed some decent athleticism there. Sul trying to control from Araujo's half guard. Araujo has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Sul would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Sul wants to pass the guard but Araujo is keeping the position. Araujo is trying to keep Sul in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sul looking to sit in guard and control but Araujo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Araujo trying to control but Sul is working from the bottom. Araujo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Araujo tries to clinch but Sul moves out of range. Sul misses with a takedown attempt - Araujo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. lucas Araujo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bico Sul.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Araujo feints and then cracks Sul's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sul down. Bico Sul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sul shoots and misses and Araujo counters with a nice body kick.
Sul sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Sul wants to clinch but Araujo slips to the side and Araujo counters with a series of strikes. Sul will be more careful next time no doubt. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sul throws a leg kick and Araujo counters with a nice uppercut. Sul misses with a combination

Sul has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sul fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Sul drives through with a takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Araujo scores with a one two! Sul had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Sul shoots in for a double leg but Araujo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Araujo looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sul looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Araujo! Sul is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Araujo has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Araujo! Araujo gets to his feet. Sul looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Sul scores a takedown into full mount! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sul goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Araujo turns into him and now he's in Sul's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sul is trying to control the position but Araujo postures up. Sul is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Araujo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sul, up you get! Araujo misses with a jab, cross combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sul not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sul tries to pass the half guard into mount. Araujo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Sul content to control rather than advance. Sul throwing shots but Araujo is blocking nicely. Sul is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Araujo has managed to free his arm - good work. Araujo is not content to let Sul control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Araujo. Sul shrugs it off though. Araujo throws a right and a left that both miss. Sul scores a takedown into full mount! Araujo is trying desperately to improve position. Sul wants to finish this one by submission but Araujo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sul.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sul controlling the position easily from mount. Araujo manages to regain half guard. Good work. Sul postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Araujo to stand up. Sul shoots in but Araujo avoids the takedown attempt easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sul.
And that's the end of the fight! Bico Sul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sul has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
