Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Slayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Longfellow Deeds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slayer's entrance music is MESHUGGAH - Bleed . A fine choice. Longfellow Deeds told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Slayer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Longfellow Deeds! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A good leg kick by Deeds. Deeds showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Slayer.
Deeds misses with a kick to the body.
Deeds avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Deeds slips a straight right by Slayer. Slayer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Deeds with a jab. Slayer lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Longfellow Deeds has been cut. Deeds throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Slayer is looking to counter with head kicks. Slayer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Deeds. Slayer clinches with his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Slayer tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Deeds avoids it. Slayer gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Deeds.

That's one minute gone in the round. Deeds breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Slayer buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Slayer throws a body punch but Deeds moves out of range. Deeds changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slayer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Deeds looks up at the clock and then as Slayer takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Deeds smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Slayer is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Slayer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Deeds cracks Slayer with an elbow. That is naaassty. Deeds working the ground and pound but Slayer is defending the strikes. Slayer is not content to let Deeds control the position. Deeds slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slayer is looking for a sweep. Deeds lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Slayer down.
Slayer sneaks back into half guard. Slayer manages to get to full guard.
This has been an exciting period of action! Slayer keeping moving, preventing Deeds from controlling successfully. Slayer is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Deeds cracks Slayer with a solid left hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slayer is trying to control the position but Deeds postures up. Deeds chips away with some ground and pound. Slayer trying to control the position.
Deeds slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Slayer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Slayer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Slayer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Deeds gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Slayer working for a triangle but Deeds defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Slayer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Slayer looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Deeds puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Deeds missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Deeds seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Deeds is controlling the pace.
Ground and pound from Deeds. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Longfellow Deeds dominated that round. The cut man is working on Longfellow Deeds's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Slayer looks to land a combination but Deeds avoids it well. Deeds throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Slayer is looking for a counter combo. Slayer tries to clinch up. Slayer looks to throw the jab but Deeds is out of range. Deeds misses with a kick to the body.
Slayer lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Slayer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Slayer. Deeds dives in and scores a takedown into Slayer's guard. Slayer wriggles free and stands up. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Slayer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Deeds. Slayer lands a lovely overhand right. Deeds checks a leg kick. Deeds shoots in but no luck this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. A jab from Deeds misses. Slayer throws a sloppy head kick and Deeds moves out of range easily. Slayer throws a leg kick that misses. Deeds drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Slayer defends it well. Deeds slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Deeds rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slayer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Slayer misses with an uppercut. Deeds saw that one coming. Deeds cracks the inside of Slayer's front leg. Deeds lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Slayer lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Frank Slayer is winning the standup battle so far. Deeds lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slayer circles away quickly and effectively. Slayer scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Deeds tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Slayer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Slayer is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deeds sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Deeds blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slayer. Slayer is trying to control the action in half guard but Deeds is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Slayer wants to work for an arm triangle but Deeds is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Deeds is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Slayer pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slayer throwing shots but Deeds is blocking nicely. Deeds trying to control from the bottom.
Deeds gets full guard. Deeds manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Slayer manages to get himself to full guard.
Deeds working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Deeds is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Deeds throwing strikes from guard but Slayer blocks nicely. Longfellow Deeds has got the better of the ground game so far. Slayer working a defensive guard here.
Deeds is working Slayer over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Slayer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Slayer keeping moving, preventing Deeds from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Slayer motions for Deeds to come forward. Slayer throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Slayer tries to move into range but Deeds moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Deeds scores with a jab to the head.
Slayer takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Slayer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Deeds swats him away and circles back towards the center. Slayer moves forwards but Deeds connects with a nice, crisp jab. Slayer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Deeds to score an easy takedown into full guard. Deeds won't allow Slayer to sweep him here. Slayer keeping full guard, as Deeds tries to pass. Slayer is adopting a defensive guard. Deeds keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Slayer's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deeds got a little sloppy there for a moment and Slayer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Deeds has managed to get both his arms back between Slayer's legs - danger averted. Deeds is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Deeds throws a big right hand that misses. Deeds controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Slayer seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Deeds stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Slayer throws up his legs and catches Deeds in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Deeds tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Slayer! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Frank Slayer! An out of breath Frank Slayer thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
