Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big Dipper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Toni Eerkilaa!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dipper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Eerkilaa defends it nicely.

and Eerkilaa counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Big Dipper has been cut.
Eerkilaa fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dipper on the side of the head.
Dipper fails with the takedown.
It seemed like Eerkilaa was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Big Dipper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dipper doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Eerkilaa counters with a huge right that knocks Dipper out cold! Eerkilaa is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Toni Eerkilaa was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
