Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rancid Crabtree! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anders Andersson! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Andersson is defended easily by Crabtree. Crabtree moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Andersson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Crabtree throws a right and a left that both miss. Crabtree lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Crabtree throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Crabtree has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Andersson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Good exchange - Crabtree coming out on top. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Crabtree feints a jab promting Andersson to slip. Crabtree then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Andersson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Andersson misses the body punch and Crabtree counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Excellent takedown into side control there by Andersson. Andersson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Andersson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! That's one minute gone in the round. Andersson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Crabtree rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Andersson's guard! Nice work there by Crabtree! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Andersson holds on and takes a little breather. Crabtree tries to stand but Andersson is controlling from the bottom. Crabtree has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Crabtree is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Andersson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Crabtree is looking to defend but Andersson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Crabtree! Andersson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Crabtree taps out and this one is all over!
