Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocko Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Cowpar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocko Cruz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rocko Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronnie Cowpar!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cowpar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cruz wants to clinch up but Cowpar keeps it at a distance.
Cowpar swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cruz misses with a head kick.
Cruz is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cowpar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Cowpar throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Cruz's head.
Cruz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cowpar swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cowpar thows a left - swing and a miss!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cruz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cowpar tries to counter with a clinch but Cruz shakes him off and moves away.
Rocko Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cruz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cowpar stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

and Cowpar counters with a left and a right that stings Cruz.

and Cowpar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cruz won't be happy with that.
Cowpar is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cruz is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cowpar asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Cowpar feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cruzs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Cowpar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cruz moves away.

Cowpar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cruz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cruz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cowpar. Cowpar obviously looking to wear him down.
Cowpar misses with a hook. Cruz ducked under it nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cowpar connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Cruz dives in for a single leg takedown but Cowpar sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Cowpar! But no joy.

Cowpar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Cruz.
Cruz misses with a leg kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cruz or perhaps it was just good defense by Cowpar, which made it look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cowpar is pressed up against the cage. Cruz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cowpar down to the mat. Cowpar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown. Cowpar tries to sprawl out of it but Cruz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cowpar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocko Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A punch lands to the side of Cruz 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Cruz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cowpar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cowpar has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cruz is proving hard to escape from.

Cowpar works a leg free and moves into half guard.

We've been informed that Cowpar has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Cowpar is nestled in close to Cruz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Cruz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cowpar is working away from the top position though.

Ronnie Cowpar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cowpar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
