The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Eto throws a nice looking combination but Boomberg bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Eto pushes Boomberg away with a front kick. Eto pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Boomberg throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Eto's waist but Eto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Boomberg off to one side. Eto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eto stuffs the takedown. Ren Eto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale Boomberg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boomberg takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Boomberg shoots for a double leg takedown but Eto sprawls well. He's pushed Boomberg's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Boomberg gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Eto stopping the sweep attempt from Boomberg. Boomberg working for a triangle but Eto defends it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Eto escapes and gets back to his feet. Eto throws a head kick that misses. A left and a right from Eto both land. Nice combination. Boomberg with a poor takedown and Eto counters with a head kick. That will keep Boomberg thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Eto connects with a crisp jab. Eto lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Eto pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Eto scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Boomberg shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Eto counters with a left and a right that stings Boomberg. Eto misses with a head kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Eto throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Boomberg moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ren Eto dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Boomberg tries for a takedown but Eto circles away easily and Eto counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Boomberg's guard now. Ren Eto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale Boomberg. Boomberg being controlled here, momentarily. Boomberg looking for a guillotine here but Eto defends easily.

Boomberg tries to land a sweep but no joy. Eto has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Boomberg has a loose triangle. Boomberg has a closed guard, preventing Eto from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boomberg has his foot on Eto's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Eto works his way back into a safe position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boomberg fails with the takedown and Eto counters with a stiff right hand. Boomberg doesn't succeed with the takedown and Eto counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Boomberg is lucky that one didn't land flush. Eto misses with a head kick.

Eto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Boomberg looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Boomberg doesn't succeed with the takedown and Eto counters with a big head kick but Boomberg shrugs it off. Eto lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Eto. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eto fails with an attempt to clinch.

Boomberg fails with the takedown and Eto counters with a single leg into guard. Boomberg didn't expect that. Boomberg is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Boomberg is working an open guard so Eto takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Eto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Eto counters with a two punch combo. Eto throws a head kick that misses. A head kick misses from Eto. Boomberg misses with a takedown attempt and Eto counters with a lovely straight right hand! Ren Eto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale Boomberg. Eto closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boomberg to the mat! Boomberg manages to get full guard. Eto controlling from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boomberg escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Eto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Eto stands and steps away. Boomberg gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Boomberg with a lazy takedown attempt and Eto counters with a takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eto controlling the position. Boomberg is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Eto's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boomberg has a hand on Eto's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Eto takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Eto fails to move to back control. Boomberg throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Boomberg is trying to reverse the position but instead Eto has taken his back - oops! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ren Eto had his way with Dale Boomberg in that round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Boomberg is trying desperately to land a takedown but Eto is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Boomberg. Boomberg stalls. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Boomberg. Boomberg prevents the takedown attempt.

Ren Eto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dale Boomberg. Eto is pressed up against the cage. Boomberg has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Eto down to the mat. Eto avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Eto lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Boomberg at a distance.

Boomberg with a poor takedown and Eto counters by moving into the clinch. Dale Boomberg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boomberg managing to block the knees to the body from Eto.
Eto tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Boomberg's elbow. Eto can't break the clinch.
Eto wants to get back to striking at distance but Boomberg won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Boomberg lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Boomberg jumps guard but Eto stands there with Boomberg around his waist. Boomberg gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Eto avoids a wild elbow strike from Boomberg. Boomberg gets control of Eto's arms and successfully pulls guard. Boomberg will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Boomberg manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

And that's the end of the fight! Ren Eto showed his dominance in that final round. Well Eto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
