Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Trevors! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rex Rohim! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trevors closes the distance and pushes Rohim back into the cage. Rohim jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Trevors walks away with a smile on his face. Rohim gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rohim fails with the takedown. Trevors shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Trevors misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Trevors circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rohim leaves Trevors with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Trevors. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rohim shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Trevors as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rohim is looking to clinch but Trevors is avoiding it.
Trevors leaves Rohim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Rohim misses with a takedown attempt - Trevors sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Trevors tries to sprawl but Rohim drives through with a takedown into half guard. Trevors is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Trevors is trying to stand up here but Rohim is controlling him well. Trevors makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trevors. Rohim looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Trevors is on top in guard.
Trevors lands a couple of elbows. Trevors slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rohim will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Trevors lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rohim is looking to stand back up but Trevors counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rohim. Rohim trying to control but Trevors postures up.
Trevors not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Rohim is looking to get back to is feet but Trevors passes into side control.
Rohim wants to control but Trevors postures up. Rohim on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Rohim seems a little lost for a moment, as Trevors dominates the positioning. Rohim on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Rohim is looking to reverse the position. Trevors has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Trevors grinds an elbow into Rohim's temple. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rohim is looking to regain half guard here but Trevors keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trevors works to advance to full mount. Rohim defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Trevors really is a fat lump. Trevors has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rohim's face.
Trevors scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Trevors controlling the position easily from mount. Trevors breaks from Rohim's wrist control and lands an elbow. Trevors is in the full mount, landing strikes. Rohim wants to control but Trevors is having none of it. Trevors lands with some strikes.
Rohim is rocked! Trevors loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Rohim scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Trevors land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Trevors stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Trevors! The defeated Rex Rohim had this to say: 'Death b4 dishonor'.
