Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bryer Michael! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mack Ua! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michael throws a hook to the side of Ua's head but Ua sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Michael displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ua throws out the jab. Michael thumps Ua with a low kick. Ua clinches up with Michael and pushes him back against the cage. Michael lands a body punch. Ua tries to throw a body punch but Michael avoids it by throwing Ua back against the cage. Michael doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ua lands a shoulder strike. Michael doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Michael breaks from the clinch.
Michael scores with a spinning back kick! Ua darts in trying to clinch and Michael counters with a nice uppercut. A jab from Michael misses. A nice inside leg kick there by Michael. That's going to slow Ua down. Ua ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Michael swings widly with a right hand
and Ua moves into the clinch. A body shot lands from Michael.
Michael digs a right hand underneath Ua's ribcage. Ua let out a lung full of air as it connected. Michael lands with a right to the head. We've been hearing reports that Michael has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Michael stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Good body shot from Michael.
Michael lands a body punch. Michael lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ua backwards. Michael takes a shot to the head. Michael blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Michael cracks Ua with a nice body shot. Ua looks winded! Michael pushes Ua back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Michael works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Michael scores with a shoulder strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Michael lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ua backwards. Ua prevents a body shot from Michael. Michael stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A nice left hand lands by Michael.
Ua misses with a short punch on the inside. Ua told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Michael working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Ua is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Michael works on Ua's body with a couple of short punches. Ua is still on wobbly legs! Can Michael finish him? Michael lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Michael lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ua or not. Michael works on Ua's body with a couple of short punches. Michael breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Michael cracks Ua with a left hook right on the temple and Ua goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Michael lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Ua is OK!
