Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Kaspov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Fenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sergei Kaspov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Fenix! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good exchange - Fenix coming out on top. Fenix ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kaspov moves away. Kaspov throws a jab when Fenix was well out of range. Kaspov looks for a takedown but Fenix sprawls well. Fenix listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. The fighters circling - Fenix throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Fenix stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kaspov cracks Fenix with an open hand slap. Kaspov misses with a takedown attempt and Fenix counters with a nice uppercut. Fenix closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kaspov to the mat! Kaspov manages to get full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kaspov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fenix is one step ahead there. Kaspov has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Fenix postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Fenix wants to pass the guard but Kaspov is keeping the position. Fenix missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kaspov keeping moving, preventing Fenix from controlling successfully. Kaspov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Fenix postures up in Kaspov's guard and throws a big left but Kaspov blocks it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kaspov is on top in guard.

Kaspov trying to control but Fenix is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kaspov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaspov cracks Fenix with a solid left hand. Fenix is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Fenix has his foot on Kaspov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kaspov works his way back into a safe position though. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kaspov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kaspov is stalling in the full guard. Kaspov trying to control but Fenix is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Fenix utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Fenix looking for a guillotine here but Kaspov defends easily.

Kaspov's corner is telling him to maintain position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kaspov looking to sit in guard and control but Fenix gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fenix won't allow Kaspov to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Fenix dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A nice leg kick lands there from Fenix. Kaspov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Kaspov walks into a straight right hand from Fenix. Kaspov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Fenix kicks Kaspov off and gets to his feet. Kaspov misses with a straight right. Fenix misses with a hook. Kaspov lands with a shot to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kaspov misses with a head kick.

Fenix has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Sergei Kaspov overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kaspov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Fenix is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Kaspov scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Kaspov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Fenix had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kaspov defends it easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fenix throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kaspov uses it to pass to side control.
Kaspov in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Kaspov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fenix keeps working. The ground and pound from Kaspov seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kaspov cracks Fenix with a big right hand but Fenix just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Fenix parries the strikes from Kaspov easily there. Kaspov is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Fenix to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kaspov throwing shots but Fenix is blocking nicely. Fenix wants to control but Kaspov is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kaspov is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Kaspov is trying to work for a kimura but Fenix is defending well.
Fenix looking for submissions off his back. Kaspov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fenix doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kaspov. Well, if Kaspov is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Fenix is refusing to be controlled, as Kaspov sits in half guard. Fenix tries to get to full guard but Kaspov has control of the leg. Kaspov prevents Fenix from standing back up.
Fenix wants to get back to full guard. Kaspov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fenix's head. Kaspov wants to control but Fenix is keeping him busy. Kaspov is taking a breather. Fenix says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kaspov throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Fenix to regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sergei Kaspov dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Fenix keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kaspov connects with a nice looking jab.
Fenix cracks Kaspov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Fenix throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fenix staying out of range there. Fenix misses the jab. Fenix dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kaspov - that will leave a mark!
Marcus Fenix seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kaspov changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fenix looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Kaspov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fenix to see if he's OK. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Fenix taking punishment in the form of punches.

Kaspov trying to control the position from guard on top but Fenix is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fenix is looking for a triangle but Kaspov pushes his legs off easily.
