Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tod Daley!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick lands from Sanders.
Daley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Daley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Daley shoots in for a takedown but Sanders shows good takedown defense.
Sanders tries to clinch up.
Daley shoots in looking for a takedown. Sanders tries to sprawl out of it but Daley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sanders manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Seth Sanders has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tod Daley.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sanders looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Daley shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanders sprawls well. He's pushed Daley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Daley clobbers Sanders with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Daley tries to land a front kick but Sanders steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sanders lands with a nice body punch.

and Daley moves into the clinch.
Daley tries to land a knee to the head but Sanders blocks with his arms.
Sanders is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Sanders wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Daley has him pressed against the cage.

Sanders lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Sanders is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sanders controls Daley momentarily but Daley frees himself.

Sanders is looking to stand back up but Daley counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sanders.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sanders unloads a knee to the mid-section. Daley lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

and Sanders counters with a low kick, right behind Daley 's knee.

Sanders lands with a nice body kick.

Sanders closes the distance and clinches.

Sanders unloads a knee to the mid-section. Daley lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Sanders keeps control of Daley as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Daley tries to pull guard but Sanders holds him up against the cage and eventually Daley drops back down to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sanders breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sanders connects with a solid leg kick.

Sanders closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Daley to the mat! Daley manages to get full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Sanders tries to clinch up but Daley circles away and keeps his distance.

and Sanders counters with a stiff right hand.

Sanders is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sanders wants to lay and pray for a moment but Daley keeps working.

Sanders is really struggling to control Daley but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Sanders takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Sanders seems to be working for a kimura but Daley defends the submission attempt.
Daley is controlling Sanders's trapped leg to prevent Sanders from advancing to side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sanders seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Daley does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daley can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Seth Sanders just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

and Daley counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sanders!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
