Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Dias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Nove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Uriel Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Nove!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dias closes the distance and clinches up with Nove, looking for a takedown. Dias pushes Nove against the cage but Nove circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dias tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nove paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Nove clinches.
Nove working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Nove lands a body punch in the clinch.

Nove has hold of one of Dias's legs. Dias is fighting the takedown attempt but Nove gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Nove throwing strikes but missing.
Nove stays in close to Dias's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nove tries to free his leg and advance position but Dias is retaining full guard.
Dias really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Nove throws an elbow that misses. Dias uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nove's guard. Nice move by Dias!

Dias is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nove is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nove has escaped and now he's on top!

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dias avoids the head kick by Nove.

Nove fails with a takedown attempt.
Nove stuffs the takedown.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nove avoids the body shot from Dias.

Dias decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nove tries to roll over but Dias keeps him under control.
Nove tries to kick Dias off but Dias keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Nove controlling the position well.
Dias will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dias is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Nove is controlling Dias's position as best he can from this difficult position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Nove is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dias prevents Nove from improving his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dias looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dias fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nove shoots in and drives through. Dias sprawls well.

Nove fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dias, pushing him back against the cage.
Nove prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dias wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uriel Dias. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nove gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Frank Nove has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dias looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Nove passes into side control.

Dias is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Nove has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Nove postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Dias tries to buck Nove off but Nove is having none of it.

Nove tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Nove decides to stand back up.

Dias throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Nove was covering up waiting for the punch and Dias finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Nove is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Dias thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Nove trying to keep a closed guard but Dias is proving a slippery customer.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Nove showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Nove shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dias defends it nicely.
Dias shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Nove as he avoids it easily.
Nove displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dias.
Dias shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Nove as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uriel Dias. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Nove leaves Dias with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dias slips a jab and a cross from Nove.

Some wild striking there from Nove.
Dias appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Dias gets tackled into the cage by Nove. Nove maintains the clinch.

Nove jumps into guard, dragging Dias to the mat.
Nove is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nove is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dias thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Nove shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nove was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Dias explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dias looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nove is fending him off so far but Dias persists. Nope, Nove circles away and we're back to standing.
A slow jab from Nove misses its intended target.
Dias pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nove rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dias moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Dias dives in for a single leg takedown but Nove sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dias has his takedown stuffed

and Nove counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Nove really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dias. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nove takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nove trying to mount his opponent but Dias defends it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Nove is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dias sees it coming and defends easily.
Dias is not content to let Nove control the position.
Nove passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Dias!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nove can't control as he wanted to and Dias manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Nove comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nove has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3 rounds of action, we go to the scorecards for a decision.
