The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Devine moves away from the strike by Shevchenko. Shevchenko moves into the clinch. Devine has picked Shevchenko up - he's going for a ride! Devine dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Shevchenko wants to control but Devine is keeping busy.
Shevchenko gets full guard. Devine working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Devine content to stall in guard here. Devine trying to control but Shevchenko is working from the bottom. Devine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shevchenko keeping full guard, as Devine tries to pass. Shevchenko wants to get back to his feet but Devine is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Shevchenko is trying to control the position but Devine postures up.

But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Shevchenko, into his guard. Shevchenko is breathing heavily. Devine trying to control but Shevchenko is working from the bottom.

Shevchenko will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Devine. Shevchenko tries to clinch but Devine moves away and Devine counters with a head kick. Devine keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Shevchenko wants to clinch and Devine counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Shevchenko! Devine lands a big shot there that rocks Shevchenko but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Devine looking to control but Shevchenko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Shevchenko is in all sorts of trouble here.

Devine wants to control the pace but Shevchenko is squirming around nicely. Shevchenko is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Shevchenko in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Shevchenko sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shevchenko is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Devine dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Devine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Shevchenko.
Devine shoots in but Shevchenko avoids the takedown attempt easily. Shevchenko throws a head kick that misses. Shevchenko missing with a left hand there. A slow jab from Shevchenko misses its intended target. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Devine gets the takedown into side control. Shevchenko is looking for a sweep. Danny Devine has got the better of the ground game so far.

Devine is trying to get an arm triangle but Shevchenko is defending well. Shevchenko manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Devine stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Devine fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Roman Shevchenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Devine. Shevchenko throws a head kick but Devine moves out of range.

Devine gets a clinch. Devine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shevchenko smiles and moves away.
Devine misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Devine moves in looking to clinch but Shevchenko pushes him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shevchenko throws a sloppy head kick and Devine counters with a leg kick. Devine fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shevchenko sprawls well initially but Devine persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Devine wants to control but Shevchenko is keeping him busy. Shevchenko is looking to control Devine's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shevchenko avoid being mounted? Shevchenko manages to get to full guard.
Devine is working Shevchenko over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Shevchenko throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Shevchenko wants to stand and escape but Devine is having none of it.

Devine moves into full mount! Shevchenko won't be happy about that! Shevchenko swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Shevchenko is looking to improve his position but Devine isn't that keen on the idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Devine showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Devine shoots in and bounces Shevchenko off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Shevchenko keeping moving, preventing Devine from controlling successfully. Shevchenko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Devine doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Devine manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Devine stands up and waves to Shevchenko to follow him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Devine has Shevchenko up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Devine lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Shevchenko wants to get back to striking at distance but Devine won't allow it.
Devine keeps control of Shevchenko as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Devine turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Devine manages to end up in side control. Shevchenko wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Shevchenko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Devine wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Shevchenko tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Devine presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Devine working the ground and pound effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Devine blocks Shevchenko's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Shevchenko is trying to stand. Devine get's back to his feet. Shevchenko throws a head kick that misses. Shevchenko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Devine as he avoids it easily. Roman Shevchenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Devine changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shevchenko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Shevchenko is trying to control Devine's posture but Devine avoids it. Devine is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Shevchenko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Shevchenko is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Devine stands up. Devine misses with a takedown attempt - Shevchenko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Shevchenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Devine shoots in and drives through. Shevchenko sprawls well. Shevchenko throws a sloppy head kick and Devine moves out of range easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Devine blocks a head kick by Shevchenko.
