Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tyrone Bate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hans Lankari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lankari has chosen AC/DC - Thunderstruck as his entrance music. Hans Lankari will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tyrone Bate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hans Lankari!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lankari fails with a takedown attempt.
As Lankari looks to move away, Bate throws a big counter combo bu Lankari just gets out of the way.

Lankari shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Lankari is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lankari not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Bate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bate wants to improve his position but Lankari is controlling well.
Lankari missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Lankari throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Lankari throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bate to regain full guard.
Bate has control of Lankari's left arm, preventing Lankari from doing any damage.

Lankari sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bate's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bate is controlling Lankari's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Lankari is looking to pass Bate's guard but actually Bate recovers to full guard.

Lankari gets to his feet - Bate follows without any prompting.
Lankari dives in and grabs Bate's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bate pushes down on Lankari's head and hops out.

and Lankari counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bate won't be happy with that.

Lankari wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bate, who protects the arm well.
Lankari lands an elbow.

Lankari advances nicely into full mount.

Lankari is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Lankari dives in and grabs Bate's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bate pushes down on Lankari's head and hops out.
Bate feinted with a counter takedown.
Tyrone Bate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hans Lankari.

Bate shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lankari is trying to maintain the position but Bate is very close to passing his half guard.

Lankari is looking for a sweep. Bate is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lankari makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lankari.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lankari is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Bate is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Lankari shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bate's guard.
Bate is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lankari wants to control from the top but Bate keeps moving.
Lankari looking to pass the guard.
Lankari is looking to stand up but Bate won't let him.

Bate pulls Lankari in to control the position.
Lankari loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
A bone on bone clash there as Lankari blocks the leg kick.
Bate motions for Lankari to come forward. Bate throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bate displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lankari.

Bate shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Nice strikes from Bate there.
Lankari has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Kombat MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Lankari is looking to control Bate's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lankari avoid being mounted?
Lankari is not content to let Bate control the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lankari is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Bate is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Lankari is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lankari wants to control but Bate is having none of it.
Lankari might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bate haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Lankari is working to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tyrone Bate will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Bate fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lankari to the ground. Bate is now in Lankari's guard.

Lankari has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bate can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lankari looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bate won't allow Lankari to sweep him here.

Bate stays in close to Lankari's body and controls the position.

Lankari is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lankari throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bate uses it to pass to side control.
Lankari seems a little lost for a moment, as Bate dominates the positioning.
Lankari tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bate easily slips into full mount!

Lankari wants to control but Bate is having none of it.
Hans Lankari has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bate controlling from the full mount.
Bate has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Bate wants to control but instead Lankari manages to regain half guard.
Bate is just content to waste time from the top position. Lankari takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Lankari lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bate utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Lankari drops back looking for a leg! Bate is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bate manages to kick Lankari off! Lankari jumps back into Bate's guard.

Lankari stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Bate throws up his legs and catches Lankari in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Lankari tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Bate! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Tyrone Bate!
Tyrone Bate seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Hans Lankari had this to say: 'No excuses here. Congrats.'.
