Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lindsey Roach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrik Aleksandrov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lindsey Roach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adrik Aleksandrov!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Sergei Dronov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleksandrov misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Aleksandrov shoots and misses
and Roach counters with a nice body shot.

Aleksandrov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Roach pushes Aleksandrov off but Aleksandrov dives into side control.
Aleksandrov controls the position.
Aleksandrov scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Roach to see if he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aleksandrov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Aleksandrov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Aleksandrov jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Roach manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Aleksandrov prevents Roach from escaping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aleksandrov tries for a kimura but Roach is defending well.
Aleksandrov is staying tight to Roach's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Aleksandrov is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Roach is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Roach pushes Aleksandrov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Aleksandrov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Aleksandrov in side control, throwing shots but Roach defends.
Roach is letting Aleksandrov control him for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Aleksandrov clinches up with Roach and pushes him back against the cage.

Aleksandrov turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Aleksandrov sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Roach is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Aleksandrov is staying tight to Roach's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Roach checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Aleksandrov shoots in and gets a takedown into Roach's guard.

Roach wants to stand and escape but Aleksandrov is having none of it.

Roach is looking to stand up but Aleksandrov isn't so interested in that idea.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Roach could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Aleksandrov throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Roach tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Aleksandrov is in Roach's guard.

Roach uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Aleksandrov shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Aleksandrov is working for a kimura but Roach is defending it quite comfortably.

Aleksandrov looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Aleksandrov is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Roach doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aleksandrov.

Roach is trying to control but can't.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Let's hope that Aleksandrov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Adrik Aleksandrov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!



Roach tries to keep at a distance but Aleksandrov has taken the fight into the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Aleksandrov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Roach gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Roach tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Aleksandrov just stands there and leans against the cage.

Aleksandrov has picked Roach up - he's going for a ride! Aleksandrov dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Roach has hold of Aleksandrov's hands but Aleksandrov slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Aleksandrov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Roach manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Aleksandrov keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Roach is trying to push Aleksandrov away but Aleksandrov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Aleksandrov is trying to trip Roach. He has hold of a leg but Roach is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Aleksandrov persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Aleksandrov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Roach's head.
Aleksandrov controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Roach throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Aleksandrov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Aleksandrov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Roach moves into range and clinches up with Aleksandrov.

Aleksandrov has Roach pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Aleksandrov pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Roach tumbling to the mat - Aleksandrov dives into Roach's guard.
Aleksandrov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Aleksandrov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Adrik Aleksandrov is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Aleksandrov tries to free his leg and advance position but Roach is retaining full guard.
Aleksandrov is looking to pass into half guard but Roach pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Roach is in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roach accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Aleksandrov closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Roach did well to prevent Aleksandrov getting side control.

Roach manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Aleksandrov keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roach is looking to break free of the clinch but Aleksandrov has double underhooks.
Lindsey Roach has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Aleksandrov has clasped his hands together around Roach's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

I would just about give that final round to Adrik Aleksandrov.
I've got Aleksandrov winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
