Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Scott Sharp! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mgnetti Marelli! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marelli bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Sharp sneaks out the side door and pushes Marelli away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Marelli scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Sharp will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Sharp shoots for a takedown but Marelli saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Marelli fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sharp sprawls well initially but Marelli persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sharp is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Marelli's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Marelli's back! Sharp is hanging on to Marelli's back as he tries to escape.
Marelli grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Sharp missing with strikes from the back. Marelli tries to escape the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. I really don't envy Marelli right now.
Marelli staying busy and making it hard for Sharp to control. Marelli trying to control the hands but Sharp breaks the grip. You can see the frustration on Marelli's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Sharp is not going to allow Marelli to sit and survive in this position. Sharp is landing with strikes from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Despite being in a bad position, Marelli is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Sharp is cranking Marelli's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Marelli! He's tightened the choke and Marelli is tapping out!
