Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Boulden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boulden kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Invasion. Steve Boulden has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Boulden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Johnson !
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boulden tries to land a front kick but Johnson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Boulden pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Boulden slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Boulden throws a big counter combination but Johnson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches.
Boulden using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Johnson has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Johnson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Boulden is defending well.
Johnson has Boulden pressed against the cage, preventing Boulden from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Johnson blocks the elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson moves out of range of the body kick from Boulden.
Boulden throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Johnson counters by clinching up.
Johnson wants a takedown but no success here.
Steve Boulden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Johnson .
Boulden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boulden throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Johnson stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Boulden follows into mount!
Johnson is rocked!
It looks like Mike Johnson has been cut.
Boulden loads up with a big shot that hurts Johnson ! He's pulled Boulden in close but Boulden has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Johnson survive? More strikes from Boulden and Johnson is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Steve Boulden!
Steve Boulden decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
