Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Felix Stanton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sasuke Swan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hello Ladies kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Felix Stanton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sasuke Swan!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swan gets a takedown into half guard.
Swan is controlling the pace.
Stanton is looking for a sweep. Swan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stanton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Swan's guard.

Swan has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Stanton has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Swan has clasped his hands together around Stanton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Let's hope that Swan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Stanton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Swan to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Swan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
It looks like Swan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Swan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Stanton is looking to control Swan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stanton avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sasuke Swan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Swan gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Stanton regains guard.

Stanton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Swan to the mat! Swan manages to get full guard.

Swan is taking a breather. Stanton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Swan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stanton on his heels. He'll look to pass Stanton's guard now, I'm sure.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Swan is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Swan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stanton quickly recovers to half guard.

Swan decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Stanton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Swan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Swan lands in his opponent's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Felix Stanton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stanton wants to control from the top but Swan keeps moving.

Well Swan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
