Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Javier Capeno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mervyn Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Javier Capeno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Mervyn Harris! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Capeno lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Capeno. Harris with a body punch. A glancing blow. Capeno fakes the leg kick and cracks Harris in the body. Capeno throws a quick inside leg kick. Harris looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Harris misses with a leg kick and Capeno counters with a big head kick but Harris shrugs it off. Capeno really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Capeno dodges the punch combination from Harris.
Capeno looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Harris throws a front kick that sends Capeno stumbling back into the cage. Harris takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Harris tries to keep at a distance but Capeno has taken the fight into the clinch. Harris trying to stall but Capeno improves his position.

Harris lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Capeno backwards.

Capeno's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Harris swings and misses with a shot to the body and Capeno counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Harris swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mervyn Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Capeno goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Capeno lands a jab to the nose. Capeno takes the fight into the clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Capeno breaks from the clinch.

and Harris counters with a stiff right hand. Capeno throws a hook but Harris blocks it. Harris lands a nice leg kick that just misses Capeno's sensitive parts. Harris connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Capeno clinches. Harris is trying to maintain a safe position but Capeno gets an underhook and turns Harris into the cage. Capeno tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Harris avoiding damage as Capeno throws knees to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Capeno takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. A short right from Capeno on the inside. Capeno content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Harris throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Capeno blocks it with crossed arms. Harris breaks the clinch.
A punch combination from Capeno misses. Harris looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Harris throws a looping overhand right but Capeno ducks down to avoid it. Harris bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Capeno's head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Capeno, right into the meat.
Capeno walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Harris checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Harris keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Harris moves in looking to clinch but Capeno pushes him off. Capeno appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Harris jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
A chopping leg kick lands by Harris. Harris feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Capenos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Javier Capeno will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Capeno is rocked! Capeno gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Harris. Oh Capeno is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Capeno is looking to land body kicks. Harris tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Capeno was well out of range. Poor timing from Harris. Capeno throws a big counter combination but Harris scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Capeno doesn't manage to clinch there - Harris circles away.
Mervyn Harris seems to be getting the better of the standup. Capeno misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Capeno seems to have got his legs back now. Javier Capeno is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Capeno misses with a leg kick. Harris missing with a left hand there. Capeno was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Capeno ducks under a wild hook from Harris. Harris throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Harris scores with a jab. Harris lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Harris misses with a wild combination.
Harris swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Capeno. Harris with a hook. Harris's corner calls for a 1-2. Harris obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Capeno moves away from the strike by Harris. Harris throws a right hand that Capeno ducks under and follows up with a left that Capeno also avoids with ease. As Harris backs away, Capeno returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Harris feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Capenos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! A big left from Harris misses. A little feinted left hand from Capeno on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Capeno's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Harris connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Capeno scrambles back to his feet. A telegraphed right hand from Harris misses the target. Harris showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Capeno.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Capeno uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Harris. Capeno throws a looping overhand right but Harris ducks down to avoid it. Harris doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Capeno looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Capeno throws a hook but Harris blocks it. Capeno moves forwards but Harris connects with a nice, crisp jab. Capeno steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Harris. Capeno takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Harris throws a hook but Capeno avoids it easily. Capeno throws a series of punches but Harris moves out of range. A slapping body kick lands there for Capeno. Harris lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Harris connects with a body shot. Capeno does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Harris lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Capeno throws a low kick but Harris avoids it. Capeno motions for Harris to come forward. Capeno throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Harris looks to land a left hand but Capeno moved out of range nicely. Harris looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Capeno closes the distance but Harris moves to the side and Harris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mervyn Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Harris misses with a looping right. Capeno looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. A big left from Harris misses. Capeno buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Capeno tries a body shot but Harris blocks it.

A nice side step and Harris releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Harris misses with a straight right. A head kick from Capeno lands but Harris takes it in his stride. Capeno lands a high kick!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Javier Capeno. I think Capeno has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
