Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Frost! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Rick! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rick pushes Frost up against the cage in a clinch. Rick lands a left hand.
Rick pushes Frost back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Frost takes a shot to the head. Rick lands with a short head shot on the inside. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Rick. Rick working some nice short punches in the clinch. Frost pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nice uppercut there from Rick. Frost rushes Rick and presses him up against the cage. Frost breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Frost ducks under a wild hook from Rick. Rick has managed to clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rick misses with the head strike.

Frost looking for a sweep. Not yet Frost, not yet. Frost has control of Rick's left arm, preventing Rick from doing any damage. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Frost is on top in guard.
Frost wants to get up but he can't break Rick's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rick can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frost connects with a couple of short punches. Rick avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Frost working some strikes from top position. Rick seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Rick is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Frost is looking to stand up but Rick won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frost thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rick looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Rick has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Frost has passed into side control.
Frost tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Frost is trying to get an arm triangle but Rick is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Frost in the domination position with Rick hanging on. Rick is looking for a sweep.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rick tries to clinch but Frost moves out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Rick dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rick tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Frost paws at him with a jab and circles away. Frost seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Rick throws the left hand but Frost avoids the punch easily. Frost appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Rick connects with a body shot. Rick misses with a hook. Frost tries to counter with a takedown but Rick is quick to defend against it. Rick rushes Frost and presses him up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rick fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Frost is trying to push Rick away but Rick has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Rick throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Frosts head. Rick scores with a nice hook to the head. Rick lands a hook that snaps the head of Frost backwards. Frost breaks the clinch.

Frost feinted with a counter takedown. Frost keeps the fight on the outside. Frost shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Frost circles away from the clinch attempt.
Frost is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Frost moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Rick tries to clinch up but Frost circles away and keeps his distance. Frost seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Rick is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Pedro Frost is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Frost misses with a takedown attempt - Rick sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Rick moves into the clinch successfully.
Rick lands a hook that snaps the head of Frost backwards. Frost pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. James Rick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rick lands a glancing blow to the side of Frost's head. Frost misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rick tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Frost manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Frost has closed the distance and engaged Rick in a clinch.

Frost really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rick is breathing heavily. Frost is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rick to keep the fight standing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frost blocks an uppercut.
James Rick seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Still in the clinch, Rick scores with a nice short uppercut. Rick has a couple of punches blocked by Frost.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Frost tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Rick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Frost's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rick sitting in guard here, content to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frost lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Rick takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frost is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Frost trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rick's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Frost works over Rick with some ground and pound from guard. Frost wants to get up but he can't break Rick's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Frost postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Frost will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Frost wants to get up but he can't break Rick's closed guard. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pedro Frost. I think Rick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
