Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henrique Dias! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dias tries to close the distance and clinch but Donaldson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Donaldson feinted with a counter takedown. Donaldson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dias.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Donaldson is defended easily by Dias. Dias misses with a right hand and Donaldson counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Dias is trying to push Donaldson away but Donaldson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Donaldson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dias lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Donaldson circles away quickly and effectively. Dias wants to stand but Donaldson is controlling his posture from full guard. Dias wants to stand and escape but instead Donaldson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Donaldson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Donaldson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Dias is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Donaldson is controlling him. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Donaldson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. He's almost out here... but no, Donaldson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dias is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Donaldson looks up at the clock and then as Dias takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Donaldson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. You can see the frustration on Dias's face as Donaldson controls the position. Dias is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Donaldson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Donaldson sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dias is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chung Donaldson. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Donaldson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
