And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Jackson.
A little feinted left hand from Jackson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Anderson doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.
Jackson tries to bum rush Anderson with a series of wild strikes but Anderson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A nice side step and Anderson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Anderson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jackson.
Jackson just misses with a punch to the body.
Anderson doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Jackson sizes up Anderson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Jackson lands a glancing blow to the side of Anderson's head.
Jackson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Anderson drives through and clinches with Jackson against the cage.
Jackson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Anderson is trying to break free.
Jackson misses with a punch on the inside.
Jackson dodges an elbow strike from Anderson.
Jackson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Anderson backwards.
Anderson tries a body shot but Jackson blocks it.
Anderson prevents a body shot from Jackson.
Jackson avoids a wild elbow strike from Anderson.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Anderson pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Jackson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Anderson prevents it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Jackson as Anderson tries to tie him up.

Jackson tries to throw a body punch but Anderson avoids it by throwing Jackson back against the cage.

Jackson has hold of one of Anderson's legs. Anderson is fighting the takedown attempt but Jackson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Jackson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Anderson is trying to escape and Jackson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Anderson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jackson! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Quinton Jackson!
After the fight, Quinton Jackson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
