Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jai Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jai Miles has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jai Miles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Jay!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jay gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Miles could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Miles takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Jay wants to get back to striking at distance but Miles won't allow it.
Miles looking to stall.
Jay working aggressively here.
Jay keeps control of Miles as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Miles throws an elbow that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Jai Miles has been cut.
Jay wants to get back to striking at distance but Miles won't allow it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jay creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Miles jumps guard but Jay stands there with Miles around his waist. Miles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Miles has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jay after a bit of a struggle.
Miles goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jay prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jai Miles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jay blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Jay dodges an elbow strike from Miles.
Miles wants to take the fight to the mat but Jay manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jay keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Miles's efforts to push away.

Miles ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Miles no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Jay tries to stand but Miles is controlling from the bottom.
Jay wants to control from the top but Miles keeps moving.
Jay wants to stand but Miles has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jay is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Miles has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jay throws a combination. Miles tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Jay scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Nice jab there from Jay.
Jay leaves Miles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jay lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Miles shoots in looking for a takedown. Jay tries to sprawl out of it but Miles keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jay throws out a counter right but Miles avoids it with no problem.
Jay cracks Miles with a right hand to the side of the head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Miles is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jay sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Jay scores with a nice strike.
Miles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jay tries to avoid it but Miles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jay to the ground. Jay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Miles walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Miles takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jay stuffs the takedown.
Jay swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Miles takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
The crowd cheers as Jay lands an impressive looking overhand right. Miles doesn't seem phased though.
Miles is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jay lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Jay has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Miles takes one on the button.
Miles doesn't manage to clinch there - Jay circles away.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jay lands with a cross.
Miles tries to move into range but Jay moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Jay shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nice uppercut lands for Jay. That snapped Miles's head back.
Miles looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Despite the aggression on Jay's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jay. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Miles is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jay defends well.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
No luck for Jay with that takedown attempt.
Miles appears to be looking for a big counter.

Miles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
It seemed like Jay was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Miles fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jay avoids it really well and circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jay works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Nice straight punches there by Jay. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jay.
Jay dives in for a single leg takedown but Miles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Miles throws a quick counter kick to the body but Jay avoids it.
John Jay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miles takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Miles wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jay has him pressed against the cage.

The fighters circle momentarily. Jay darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Jay lands with a hook. Miles tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Jay bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Miles's head backwards.
Miles moves out of range of the leg kick from Jay.
Jay works over Miles's head and body with a nice combination.

Jay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Miles tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jay manages to circle out of the way.

Miles takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jay looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jay lunges at Miles with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Miles's hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Miles ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jay moves away.
Jay swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Miles.
Jai Miles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
John Jay is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jay gets in close and instigates a clinch.

John Jay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jay winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
