PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harrick Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Riske (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riske has chosen The Livid - One By One as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Harrick Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Riske! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riske throws a right hand that misses
and Lewis counters with a lovely shot to the body. Riske gets a takedown into half guard. Lewis is looking to escape. Riske is trying to control. Lewis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Lewis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Lewis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Riske is nestled in close to Lewis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lewis pushes Riske off looking to stand but Riske dives back in and keeps control.
Lewis is trying is best to control the position here. Riske seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Lewis is trying to stand back up but Riske is controlling him
Riske trying to control from half guard but Lewis is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lewis kicks off Riske and gets to his feet. Lewis throws a jab but it's blocked by Riske. Riske looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. The fighters circling - Lewis throws out the jab but it was never going to land. And Riske tries to counter it with a takedown but Lewis pushes his down on his head and steps out. Lewis's jab looks to have found its range, popping Riske under the eye.
It looks like William Riske has been cut. Lewis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lewis swings away with a leg kick that misses. Riske keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Riske counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Riske. Riske misses with a hook from the clinch. Riske wants to stall.
Lewis stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Riske drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Riske displaying some good clinch control by pressing Lewis up against the cage. Riske pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riske fails to land the takedown. Nice shot by Lewis. Lewis swings for the body but Riske moves out of range.
Riske closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That has opened up William Riske's cut even more. Riske looks winded! Lewis looks to land a combination but Riske avoids it well. Riske should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Lewis takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Lewis missing with a left hand there. Riske was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A combination from Lewis does no damage. Lewis misses with a wild body shot. Riske is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Lewis fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Riske checks it well. Lewis throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The cut above William Riske's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lewis will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Riske takes a jab right on the kisser.
William Riske's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Riske takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Riske takes the fight into the clinch. A right hook to the body lands for Lewis.
Riske effectively controlling the action here. Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harrick Lewis dominated that round. The cut man is working on William Riske's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Riske takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Lewis looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Riske steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lewis. Riske looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Lewis throws a nice looking combination but Riske bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Riske is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Lewis with a body shot. Lewis drops Riske with a beautiful combination! Riske stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lewis is looking for the KO!
Riske is rocked!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at William Riske's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Harrick Lewis!
