The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bulldog throws a lazy uppercut
and Franlkin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Franlkin tests Bulldog's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bulldog takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Franlkin has closed the distance and engaged Bulldog in a clinch.
Bulldog is trying to pull guard but Franlkin has him pressed against the cage.

Bulldog breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Franlkin counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Franlkin leaves Bulldog with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bulldog has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Franlkin uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Franlkin is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Bulldog throws a low kick but Franlkin avoids it.
Franlkin was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
