Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boston Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samak Tiyapairat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tiyapairat has chosen Ram Muay as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Boston Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
28 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samak Tiyapairat! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tiyapairat lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively. Tiyapairat tries to clinch up. Tiyapairat has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones tries to pull guard but Tiyapairat forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jones is looking to control Tiyapairat's arms but Tiyapairat gets an underhook and turns him. Now Jones has his back to the cage. Jones blocks an elbow strike from Tiyapairat.
Jones is trying to force a seperation but Tiyapairat has the dominant position. Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Tiyapairat ducks under a wild hook from Jones. A shot to the body from Tiyapairat misses and Jones counters with a two punch combo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tiyapairat connects with a high kick. Jones drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Tiyapairat connects with a single shot there.
Jones is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The fight moves into the clinch position. Oh Jones is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jones jumps guard but Tiyapairat turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones takes a knee to the side of the body. Jones seems to have got his legs back now. Jones's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Tiyapairat lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Boston Jones has been cut. I was talking to Jones's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. A head punch blocked on the inside by Tiyapairat. Tiyapairat using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jones has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boston Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Jones blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Tiyapairat just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jones's brow. Tiyapairat pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tiyapairat tries to clinch up. Tiyapairat throws a nice inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tiyapairat clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage. Tiyapairat misses with a knee to the head. Jones is working for takedown but Tiyapairat is calmly controlling the position for now. Tiyapairat doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Jones is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Tiyapairat is keeping busy. Tiyapairat missing with knees to the body.
Jones avoids a wild elbow strike from Tiyapairat. Tiyapairat tries to land knees in the clinch but Jones avoids the damage to the body. Tiyapairat tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Tiyapairat's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tiyapairat ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Samak Tiyapairat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tiyapairat works Jones's body with a nice hook. Jones blocks a head kick by Tiyapairat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Tiyapairat. Tiyapairat fails in his attempt to clinch. Tiyapairat tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it. Jones keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tiyapairat's corner calls for a 1-2. Tiyapairat obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jones misses with a combination
and Tiyapairat holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Tiyapairat counter with a right hand. Jones doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Tiyapairat manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tiyapairat misses with a knee to the head. Jones is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tiyapairat is defending well. Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tiyapairat smiles and moves away.
Jones on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Tiyapairat is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones. Tiyapairat cracks Jones with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Tiyapairat digs a good body shot into Jones's ribs. Jones misses with a straight right. Tiyapairat scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Tiyapairat connects with a crisp jab. Tiyapairat works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Jones tries for a takedown but Tiyapairat sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Tiyapairat is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samak Tiyapairat dominated that round. The cut man is working on Boston Jones's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Tiyapairat dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut! Tiyapairat lands a nice shot that snaps Jones's head back.
Samak Tiyapairat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tiyapairat tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault. It looked like Jones was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Tiyapairat scores with a hook. Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tiyapairat's waist but Tiyapairat gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side. Boston Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tiyapairat tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Tiyapairat lands a big head kick that sends Jones tumbling to the mat! Tiyapairat takes a step backwards and waves Jones back to his feet - he wants the finish! Samak Tiyapairat seems to be getting the better of the standup. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jones dives in and grabs Tiyapairat's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tiyapairat pushes down on Jones's head and hops out. Tiyapairat drops Jones with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Jones! Tiyapairat dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samak Tiyapairat! A less than humble Samak Tiyapairat misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
