Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Haapalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garry Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haapalainen comes to the cage accompanied by Lentävä Kalakukko. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas throws a left and a right that both miss
and Haapalainen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Douglas won't be happy with that.
Haapalainen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Haapalainen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Douglas pushes Haapalainen away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Haapalainen gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Haapalainen is trying to get an arm triangle but Douglas is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Haapalainen content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Douglas is trying to get back to his feet.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Haapalainen has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Douglas!
Haapalainen is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Haapalainen extends the arm and Douglas is forced to tap!

In his post fight interview, Mikko Haapalainen started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
