Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Renato Laranja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Small (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dan Small was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Small to counter with a crisp jab.
Laranja fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Small, pushing him back against the cage.
Small stalling in the clinch but Laranja improves position.
A left hand lands to the body for Laranja.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Small.
Laranja misses with a hook from the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Small is trying to trip Laranja. He has hold of a leg but Laranja is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Small persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Laranja's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Laranja got a little sloppy there for a moment and Small has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Laranja has managed to get both his arms back between Small's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Laranja is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Small is just riding it out for now. Laranja eventually gives up the hold.

Laranja goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Small has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Laranja but great work by Small.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Small looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

A very excited looking Dan Small rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Renato Laranja spoke after the fight, saying 'I didnt eat enouf frui and vegtables. Thats verr importint...'.
