Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Salvatore Ferrara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Loner!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrara shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Loner defends it nicely.
Ferrara shoots for a takedown but Loner saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Loner misses with the combination.
Ferrara half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Ferrara closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ferrara lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ferrara is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferrara is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ferrara is trying to drag Loner to the mat but Loner just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Ferrara drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ferrara lands a nice forearm strike.

Ferrara thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A lull in the action here.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Ferrara darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Loner tries to kick Ferrara off but Ferrara keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Ferrara winds up and cracks Loner with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Ferrara seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Salvatore Ferrara overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ferrara looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Loner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Loner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Loner lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ferrara or not.
Loner is trying to push Ferrara away but Ferrara has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ferrara is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Loner gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ferrara avoids a wild elbow strike from Loner.
Ferrara has Loner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Loner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Loner wants to get back to striking at distance but Ferrara won't allow it.

Ferrara drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Loner lands a body punch in the clinch.
Ferrara goes for a takedown attempt but Loner pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Loner throws a right hand that Ferrara ducks under and follows up with a left that Ferrara also avoids with ease.
Loner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ferrara tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Loner defends well and Ferrara ends up having to push Loner into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Loner shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ferrara defends it nicely.
Ferrara misses with a takedown attempt - Loner sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ferrara has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Loner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Ferrara to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Loner wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ferrara manages to pass to side control.
Ferrara throws a strike but Loner avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Loner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Loner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
