Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grzegorz Rundowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luca Rinaldi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rundowski's entrance music is A$AP Rocky - Goldie. A fine choice. Luca Rinaldi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luca Rinaldi!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rinaldi doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rundowski counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A left lands for Rundowski.
Rundowski shoots in but no luck this time.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rinaldi.

Rinaldi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Grzegorz Rundowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luca Rinaldi.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rundowski tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rundowski has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rundowski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rinaldi has escaped the position, nice work there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rinaldi dodges the ground and pound from Rundowski.
Rinaldi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rundowski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've been hearing that Rundowski has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Rundowski goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rinaldi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rundowski defends it nicely.

Rinaldi misses with a takedown attempt - Rundowski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rundowski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rinaldi's guard.

Rundowski is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rundowski with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Rinaldi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Rundowski tries to free his leg and advance position but Rinaldi is retaining full guard.

Rundowski slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Rundowski goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rinaldi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rundowski but great work by Rinaldi.

Rundowski is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Rinaldi off and has taken his back!
Rundowski has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Rinaldi.

Rinaldi is covering up but some of the strikes from Rundowski are getting through and doing damage.

Rinaldi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Rundowski gets his way!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rundowski's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Rinaldi looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Rundowski working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Rinaldi is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Rundowski has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Rinaldi taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Grzegorz Rundowski!
A less than humble Grzegorz Rundowski misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
