Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamanaka misses with a low kick.
Yamanaka lands a head kick. Grundy smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Brodie Grundy has been cut.
Grundy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Yamanaka.
Grundy tries a head kick but it misses.
Grundy ducks under a wild hook from Yamanaka.
Yamanaka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yamanaka takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Grundy slips a jab and a cross from Yamanaka.
Grundy connects with a looping right hand.
Grundy throws a leg kick which misses Yamanaka's front leg but catches the back leg as Yamanaka tries to avoid it.

Yamanaka's coach down at MANTIS MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Yamanaka's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Yamanaka swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Grundy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Grundy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Grundy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Horrible takedown attempt by Yamanaka or perhaps it was just good defense by Grundy, which made it look bad.

Grundy takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Yamanaka looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Grundy jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Grundy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Yamanaka misses the shot to the body.
Yamanaka throws a shot from downtown. Grundy moves away and avoids it.
Grundy lands a left and a right that send Yamanaka crashing to the mat, dazed. Grundy thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Yamanaka throws a nice outside leg kick.
Yamanaka is still on wobbly legs! Can Grundy finish him?
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Yamanaka lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Grundy has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Grundy and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Brodie Grundy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Yamanaka on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Yamanaka seems to have recovered his senses.
Grundy swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Yamanaka throws a jab when Grundy was well out of range.
It appears Grundy was looking to counter with a kick there.
Grundy drops Yamanaka with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Yamanaka looks back up at him and smiles so Grundy waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Yamanaka pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Yamanaka has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Grundy.
Jojiro Yamanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamanaka throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Grundy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Yamanaka let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Grundy darts in and clinches Yamanaka up against the cage.
Grundy throws a punch but it's blocked by Yamanaka.

Yamanaka is trying to break the clinch but Grundy has him pressed against the cage.
Yamanaka lands with a short shot to the head.
Grundy tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Yamanaka's elbow.

Grundy moves out of range as Yamanaka throws a body kick.
Yamanaka slips a straight right by Grundy.
Yamanaka takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Grundy misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yamanaka throws a low kick but Grundy moves out of range easily.
A nice leg kick lands there from Grundy.
Yamanaka stalks Grundy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Grundy's face. Grundy staggers backwards, shaken.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Grundy cracks Yamanaka with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Grundy has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Yamanaka to stand back up!
Yamanaka avoids the head kick by Grundy.
Grundy does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Grundy dodges the punch combination from Yamanaka.
Grundy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Grundy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Grundy takes the fight into the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Yamanaka shoots in and drives through. Grundy sprawls well.

and Grundy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Grundy lands a head kick. Yamanaka smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Grundy sends Yamanaka crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Grundy is motioning to the referee to let Yamanaka up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Grundy.
Grundy wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Yamanaka gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Grundy gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brodie Grundy!
Brodie Grundy bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
