Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vyik Tyunduer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Vyik Tyunduer has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Vyik Tyunduer seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vyik Tyunduer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chad Mendez! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tyunduer moves into the clinch. Mendez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Tyunduer managing to block the knees to the body from Mendez.
Tyunduer putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Mendez in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Tyunduer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mendez avoids the body shot from Tyunduer.
Mendez lands with a good body shot. Tyunduer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mendez takes a swing at Tyunduer's ribcage but misses. Mendez swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tyunduer counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mendez won't be happy with that. Mendez sneaks out the side door and pushes Tyunduer away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mendez throws out a powerful jab. Tyunduer clinches up against the cage. Tyunduer manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyunduer taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Tyunduer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mendez lands a left and a right that send Tyunduer crashing to the mat, dazed. Mendez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Tyunduer is rocked! Mendez just misses with a punch to the body.
Oh Tyunduer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Tyunduer instigates a clinch. Mendez prevents the takedown attempt.
Tyunduer seems to have got his legs back now. Tyunduer jumps guard but Mendez stands there with Tyunduer around his waist. Tyunduer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vyik Tyunduer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tyunduer has hold of one of Mendez's legs. Mendez is fighting the takedown attempt but Tyunduer gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Mendez is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Tyunduer presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Tyunduer jumps into guard, dragging Mendez to the mat.
Tyunduer has a closed guard, preventing Mendez from standing up. Mendez is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Tyunduer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mendez is aware though and is defending well. Mendez wants to stand and escape but instead Tyunduer has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyunduer postures up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mendez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tyunduer in his tracks. Mendez throws a right and a left that both miss. Tyunduer gets a double leg takedown into Mendez's guard. Mendez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mendez keeping full guard, as Tyunduer tries to pass. Tyunduer content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tyunduer chips away with some ground and pound. Mendez being controlled here, momentarily. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Tyunduer passes into half guard. Tyunduer performing his best blanket impression for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Mendez dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tyunduer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Tyunduer advances to full mount. Mendez wants to hold on but Tyunduer pushes him away. Tyunduer wants to control the pace but Mendez is squirming around nicely. Tyunduer controlling his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tyunduer has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyunduer looking to control but Mendez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mendez looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Tyunduer trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Mendez doesn't escape. Tyunduer is persistently looking for the submission but Mendez is defending it well.
Tyunduer is working the ground and pound. Can Mendez escape?
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mendez can't escape the position.
Tyunduer is working the ground and pound. Can Mendez escape? Good control from Tyunduer. Tyunduer is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Tyunduer has the hooks in. Mendez is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Tyunduer is working for a rear naked choke. Mendez is not defending it well and Tyunduer has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Mendez refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Mendez's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Vyik Tyunduer!
