Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dean Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dre Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Dre Goodman was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dre Goodman! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Diaz manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Goodman wants to stand but Diaz is controlling his posture from full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Diaz has control of Goodman's left arm, preventing Goodman from doing any damage. The fighters are working up against the cage. Diaz manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Diaz manages to pull guard.
Goodman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Goodman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Goodman has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted. Goodman postures up in Diaz's guard and throws a big left but Diaz blocks it. Diaz uses the cage to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Goodman fails to land the takedown. Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. A punch combination from Diaz misses. Dre Goodman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goodman chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Diaz instigates a clinch. Diaz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Goodman uses from the top position. Diaz pushes Goodman off and gets back to his feet.
Diaz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Goodman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Diaz but Diaz pushes him off and we're back to square one. Goodman ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Diaz moves away. Goodman tries to clinch up. Goodman tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. As Goodman looks to move away, Diaz throws a big counter combo bu Goodman just gets out of the way. Goodman shoots in and drives through. Diaz sprawls well. Dean Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dre Goodman. Goodman shoots and misses and Diaz counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Goodman looks like he's thinking about clinching though. It looked like Diaz was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Diaz closes the distance and clinches. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Goodman jumps guard but Diaz stands there with Goodman around his waist. Goodman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Goodman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Diaz gets control of Goodman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Diaz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Diaz is on top in guard.

Diaz is staying tight to Goodman's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz is working to tighten his grip on Goodman's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Goodman has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Diaz is really squeezing tight and eventually Goodman passes out! Diaz breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Dean Diaz!
