Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Wills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Birbiglia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wills might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Enter Sandman . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Wills! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Birbiglia! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wills is looking to clinch. Birbiglia waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wills. Birbiglia dives in and scores a takedown into Wills's guard. Birbiglia postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Birbiglia postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wills really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Birbiglia stops Wills from standing up. Wills throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Wills is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Birbiglia is controlling him. Wills looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wills wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Birbiglia manages to pass to side control. Wills trying to control here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wills is refusing to be controlled, as Birbiglia sits in half guard. Wills tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Wills won't allow Birbiglia to pass to mount. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Birbiglia connects with a nice short shot to Wills's temple. Birbiglia stalling. Wills trying to control from the bottom.
Wills looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wills has hold of Birbiglia's hands but Birbiglia slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Birbiglia is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wills sees it coming and defends easily. Wills taking some punishment here, with Birbiglia in his half guard. Birbiglia is nestled in close to Wills, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Birbiglia looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Wills is trying to stand up here but Birbiglia is controlling him well. Nice strikes from Birbiglia there. Birbiglia works his way into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Birbiglia wants to control but Wills is keeping him busy. Birbiglia remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Birbiglia dominated that round. That's time! Wills's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Wills tries to clinch but Birbiglia is having none of it. Birbiglia just misses with a punch to the body.
A big right from Birbiglia misses. As Birbiglia tries to get set, Wills tries to push him back and clinch up but Birbiglia manages to avoid the attempt. Birbiglia throws out a loose jab but Wills uses good head movement to avoid it. Birbiglia throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Birbiglia throws a jab when Wills was well out of range. Birbiglia misses with a hook. Birbiglia throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Wills is looking to land body kicks. Birbiglia swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Wills is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Birbiglia. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wills rushes Birbiglia and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Wills is trying to pull guard but Birbiglia turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Wills is looking for a takedown. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Wills creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wills jumps guard but Birbiglia stands there with Wills around his waist. Wills gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Wills. That's going to take a lot out of him. Birbiglia lands with a short head shot on the inside. A short uppercut from Birbiglia. Wills landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Wills is trying to pull guard but Birbiglia turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Birbiglia prevents Wills from breaking the clinch. Wills tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Birbiglia just stands there and leans against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Birbiglia fails to land. Wills breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wills uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Birbiglia. Wills rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Birbiglia moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Birbiglia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Wills moves away. Wills closes this distance looking for a takedown but Birbiglia circles away. Birbiglia looks to land a left hand but Wills moved out of range nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wills throws a head kick that Birbiglia semi-blocks.
Wills ducks under a wild hook from Birbiglia. Birbiglia ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Birbiglia swinging wildly here.
Birbiglia cracks Wills with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Birbiglia takes a swing at Wills's ribcage but misses. Wills shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Birbiglia counters with a takedown into side control. Roger Birbiglia has got the better of the ground game so far. Wills is not content to let Birbiglia control the position. Birbiglia advances to full mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Birbiglia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Wills will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Wills displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Birbiglia throws out the jab. Wills dives in and grabs Birbiglia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Birbiglia pushes down on Wills's head and hops out. Birbiglia tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Joe Wills is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wills takes a body punch but keeps moving. Birbiglia lands with an overhand left. Wills looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Wills takes one to the side of the head.
Wills fails with the takedown. A countering left hand to the body from Birbiglia misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Wills. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Birbiglia lands a slapping body shot.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Birbiglia connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wills. Wills circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wills is rocked! Wills leaves his chin hanging out and Birbiglia seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Wills crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roger Birbiglia! Roger Birbiglia bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it. Joe Wills was interviewed post fight and said 'Well Try Better Next Time'.
