Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Timoteo Belo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ric Flores!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores misses with a double jab.
Flores slaps away a takedown attempt from Belo, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Flores throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Belo swings for the body but Flores moves out of range.
Flores shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Belo as he jumps to the side.
Belo throws a quick counter kick to the body but Flores avoids it.
Flores scores with a one two! Belo had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Belo throws a series of punches but Flores moves out of range.
Belo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Flores tries to close the distance and clinch but Belo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Flores clobbers Belo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Flores dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belo is defended easily by Flores.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timoteo Belo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Belo shoots in but Flores avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice shot by Flores.
Flores lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Flores.
Belo is rocked!
Flores throws a head kick but Belo moves out of range.
A counter left hand to the body from Belo misses its target.
Oh Belo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Belo tries a head kick but it misses.
Flores lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Belo falls backwards - clearly groggy! Flores dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ric Flores!
A determined Ric Flores didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
