PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jose Pedrao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kinho Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Pedrao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kinho Santos!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedrao doesn't manage to clinch there - Santos circles away.
Pedrao closes this distance looking for a takedown but Santos circles away.

Santos feints and as Pedrao raises his hands in defense, Santos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pedrao is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Santos scoring with punches to the head and body.

Santos decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pedrao doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Santos counters with a shoot takedown. Pedrao fights it but they end up in guard.
Pedrao can't keep his opponent in guard - Santos advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Santos seems to be working for a kimura but Pedrao defends the submission attempt.
Santos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Santos decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Pedrao wants to clinch but Santos slips to the side

and Santos moves into the clinch.

Pedrao pulls guard.
Santos wants to control from the top but Pedrao keeps moving.
Santos looks gassed!

Pedrao is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Santos is pushing down on Pedrao's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pedrao is fighting to maintain full guard but Santos has managed to sneak the leg through.
Santos working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Santos stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Pedrao to get to his feet.
Pedrao clinches but Santos breaks the clinch

and Santos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pedrao!

Santos wants to finish this one by submission but Pedrao is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Santos.
Pedrao squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Santos is working for a guillotine from mount but Pedrao frees his head quite easily.
Pedrao wants to hold on but Santos pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pedrao avoids a series of strikes thrown by Santos.
Pedrao is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Santos putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Santos is working for a guillotine from mount but Pedrao frees his head quite easily.

Santos looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Pedrao is squirming around, avoiding Santos's attempts to control the action.
Pedrao really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
You get the feeling that Pedrao really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Pedrao has left one of his arms exposed and Santos doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Pedrao screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
