The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Contreiras moves in looking to clinch but Chuckhaven pushes him off.

Chuckhaven tries to work over Contreiras's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Chuckhaven can't find room to land a body shot as Contreiras controls the action.
Chuckhaven's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Contreiras scores with a jab to the body.
Chuckhaven throws a right hand that Contreiras ducks under and follows up with a left that Contreiras also avoids with ease.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Contreiras really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chuckhaven. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
