The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Spencer is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fadda's half guard.
Fadda manages to get to full guard.
Fadda looking for a sweep. Not yet Fadda, not yet.
Spencer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Spencer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fadda haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Fadda manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Spencer manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spencer tries to lock up and control but Fadda gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
