Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafinha Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrique Tavares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tavares is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Devour the Day - Get Out of My Way. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henrique Tavares!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tavares.
Tavares misses with a double jab.
Silva swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Silva listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Tavares tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Silva was well out of range. Poor timing from Tavares.
Silva missing with a left hand there. Tavares was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Tavares scores with a hook.
It looks like Rafinha Silva has been cut.
Silva misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Tavares misses the target.
A jab from Silva misses.
Tavares jabs Silva to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tavares.
No joy there for Tavares, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A slow jab from Tavares misses its intended target.
Tavares misses with a body shot.
Silva uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tavares.
Silva was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tavares thuds his right hand into Silva's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tavares on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Silva. Silva obviously looking to wear him down.
Silva misses with an uppercut.
A combination from Tavares does no damage.
Tavares doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Silva lands the left hand.
A punch lands to the side of Tavares 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tavares fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Silva on the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tavares swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tavares takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Silva connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sloppy strikes from Tavares. Those never looked like landing.
An attempted straight right counter from Silva misses the target.
Tavares throws a looping overhand right but Silva ducks down to avoid it.
Tavares looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.
Tavares throws a combination that misses
and Tavares takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Tavares is rocked!
Silva cracks Tavares on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Tavares falls backwards against the ropes. Silva follows up with more strikes that drop Tavares to his knees. Silva keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Tavares! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rafinha Silva!
A relieved looking Rafinha Silva thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
