Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Schmo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juda Schwartz! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwartz throws a head kick that misses. Schmo looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Schwartz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Schmo punishes Schwartz's body with a nice straight punch. Schwartz shoots in and drives through. Schmo sprawls well. Schwartz fails with a takedown attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Schwartz drags the fight down to the ground.
Schwartz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Schwartz looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Schwartz is taking a breather. Schmo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schmo is looking to control Schwartz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Schmo avoid being mounted? Schwartz lands strikes from half guard. Schwartz is controlling the pace.
Nice strikes from Schwartz there. Schmo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Ground and pound from Schwartz. Schmo wants to improve his position but Schwartz is controlling well.
Schwartz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schwartz lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Schmo is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Schwartz pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schmo is defending against the submission attempts here by Schwartz.
Schwartz seems to be working for a kimura but Schmo defends the submission attempt. Schmo has hold of Schwartz's hands but Schwartz slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Schwartz takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schwartz is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Schmo has managed to free his arm - good work. Schwartz seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Schmo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
