Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denny Cardenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Egor Polishuk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Denny Cardenas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Egor Polishuk! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polishuk gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Cardenas just leaning against Polishuk, taking a breather. Stalling in the clinch from Polishuk.
Cardenas wants to get back to striking at distance but Polishuk won't allow it.

Polishuk pulls guard. Cardenas is looking to stand up but Polishuk won't let him. Polishuk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Cardenas. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cardenas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cardenas connects with a couple of short punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Polishuk tries to land a sweep but no joy. Polishuk seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Polishuk is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Polishuk pulls Cardenas in close to his closed guard and prevents Cardenas from doing any damage or advancing position. Cardenas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Cardenas stops Polishuk from standing up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Egor Polishuk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cardenas shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Polishuk pinned against the cage. Polishuk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Polishuk closes the distance and clinches. Polishuk has clasped his hands together around Cardenas's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cardenas wants to get back to his feet but Polishuk drags him back down. Polishuk trying to control the position but Cardenas is working away. Cardenas is looking for a sweep. Cardenas defending against the ground and pound. Polishuk remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Polishuk has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Polishuk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Cardenas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cardenas tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Polishuk is trying to control. Cardenas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Cardenas punching from the bottom.
Cardenas slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Polishuk must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Cardenas will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Polishuk decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Polishuk gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cardenas to score an easy takedown into full guard. Polishuk wriggles free and stands up. Polishuk lands with an overhand left. Polishuk has Cardenas up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cardenas breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cardenas shoots in for a double leg but Polishuk sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Polishuk closes the distance and clinches. Cardenas manages to break the clinch.
Polishuk looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Cardenas! Egor Polishuk has got the better of the ground game so far. Polishuk throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Cardenas works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Polishuk throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Polishuk is trying to control the action in half guard but Cardenas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Cardenas tries to roll over but Polishuk keeps him under control.

Polishuk is pressing down on Cardenas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cardenas is holding on for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Polishuk escapes and gets back to his feet. Polishuk clinches up with Cardenas and pushes him back against the cage. Cardenas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Polishuk closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cardenas's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cardenas pushes Polishuk off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Polishuk has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Polishuk has managed to clinch.
Polishuk tries to throw a body punch but Cardenas avoids it by throwing Polishuk back against the cage. Cardenas is trying to trip Polishuk. He has hold of a leg but Polishuk is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cardenas persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Polishuk manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cardenas lands a two punch combo.
Polishuk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Cardenas thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Cardenas trying to strike off his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Polishuk advances position into side control! Polishuk is looking to take a break and control but Cardenas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Polishuk tries to advance to mount but can't. Polishuk decides to stand back up. Denny Cardenas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Polishuk shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cardenas is trying to defend but Polishuk finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Polishuk tries to pass to full mount but Cardenas defends it. Polishuk is keen to just control but Cardenas is a slippery customer. Cardenas tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Polishuk with the ground and pound but Cardenas uses the opportunity to regain guard. Polishuk wants to control from the top but Cardenas keeps moving. Polishuk looking to pass the guard. Egor Polishuk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Polishuk lands a jab-cross combination. Cardenas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Polishuk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cardenas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Polishuk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Polishuk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cardenas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Polishuk stands up from Cardenas's guard - Polishuk perhaps looking for a knockout. Polishuk looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Polishuk takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Cardenas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Polishuk pulls his head out easily. Polishuk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cardenas is just riding it out for now. Polishuk eventually gives up the hold. Polishuk stops Cardenas from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cardenas looking for a kimura from the bottom but Polishuk passes into side control! Polishuk has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Polishuk manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cardenas on his heels. He'll look to pass Cardenas's guard now, I'm sure.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Polishuk drives through with a takedown into Cardenas's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Polishuk postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cardenas is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Polishuk, into his guard. Polishuk wants to sweep but no luck. Denny Cardenas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Egor Polishuk is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cardenas throws a big elbow that misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Egor Polishuk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Polishuk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
