PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kruger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Bosacki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Kruger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Bosacki!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kruger bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bosacki dodges the ground and pound from Kruger.
Kruger has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bosacki wants to get back to his feet but Kruger drags him back down.
Bosacki wants to control but Kruger postures up.
Kruger lands a decent elbow from side control.

Bosacki throws Kruger to one side and escapes!
Bosacki stalks Kruger and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kruger's face. Kruger staggers backwards, shaken.
Kruger fails with a takedown attempt.

Kruger bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kruger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bosacki is looking to escape.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bosacki can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bosacki tries to lock up and control but Kruger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Bosacki takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kruger is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bosacki can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Bosacki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kruger. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kruger shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bosacki throws a nice inside leg kick.

Kruger has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Kruger looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bosacki is fending him off so far but Kruger persists. Nope, Bosacki circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kruger cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Bosacki is staying active underneath Kruger, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kruger is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bosacki is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kruger lands a nice short elbow.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kruger shoots in looking for a takedown. Bosacki tries to sprawl out of it but Kruger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bosacki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Kruger closes the distance and clinches up with Bosacki, looking for a takedown. Kruger pushes Bosacki against the cage but Bosacki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kruger shoots in for a double leg but Bosacki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Kruger. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bosacki has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bosacki wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kruger drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bosacki pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mark Kruger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bosacki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kruger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bosacki but Bosacki pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bosacki can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kruger controls the pace.
Kruger might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kruger postures up and lands a big shot to Bosacki's brow.
Kruger is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Bosacki wants to stand up but Kruger is controlling him.
Bosacki tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bosacki wants to get back to his feet but Kruger is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kruger wants to control from the top but Bosacki keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kruger changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bosacki tries to avoid it but Kruger manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bosacki to the ground. Bosacki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Bosacki has managed to clinch.
Kruger tries to pull guard but Bosacki won't allow it.
Kruger keeps control of Bosacki as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bosacki has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kruger avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Bosacki wants to get back to striking at distance but Kruger won't allow it.
Kruger wants a takedown but no success here.
Kruger goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bosacki prevents it.

Bosacki breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kruger looks to throw the jab but Bosacki is out of range.

and Bosacki counters by moving into the clinch.
Kruger jumps guard but Bosacki stands there with Kruger around his waist. Kruger gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Alexander Bosacki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Kruger.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kruger, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
