Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Claude Sexton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Woodhall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Woodhall will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Claude Sexton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Woodhall! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Summer Carpenter and Ben Watson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodhall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Sexton shoots in for a double leg but Woodhall sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Woodhall drives through with a takedown into Sexton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sexton looking for a sweep. Not yet Sexton, not yet. Woodhall throws an elbow that misses. Sexton uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Woodhall's guard. Nice move by Sexton! Sexton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Woodhall is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sexton content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sexton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Woodhall controlling Sexton's posture.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Woodhall swings for the body but Sexton moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Woodhall closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sexton's guard. Sexton wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Woodhall manages to pass to side control. Woodhall blocks the strikes from Sexton.
Woodhall is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sexton has managed to free his arm - good work. Woodhall is looking to stall here but Sexton recovers full guard. Woodhall stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodhall tries to clinch but Sexton moves out of range. Woodhall clinches up against the cage. Woodhall tries to break the clinch but Sexton is controlling the position. Woodhall using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Woodhall has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sexton is trying to keep an underhook but Woodhall manages to get the takedown into half guard. Sexton is trying to escape back to his feet but Woodhall uses the scramble to pass into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Woodhall stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sexton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Sexton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Woodhall's guard. Sexton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sexton wants to control from the top but Woodhall keeps moving. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sexton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Woodhall looking to sweep here. No luck so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Sexton counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Woodhall wants to get back to full guard. Claude Sexton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Sexton with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Woodhall is defending against the submission attempts here by Sexton.

That's one minute gone in the round. Sexton is trying to control the action in half guard but Woodhall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Woodhall is trying to get back to full guard. Woodhall tries to kick Sexton off but Sexton keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Woodhall misses with a straight right. Sexton fails with a takedown attempt. Woodhall drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Sexton defends it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sexton misses with a takedown and Woodhall counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Sexton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Woodhall is fending him off so far but Sexton persists. Nope, Woodhall circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Claude Sexton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Woodhall darts in and clinches Sexton up against the cage. Woodhall pulls guard. Sexton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Woodhall is looking to stand up but Sexton isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sexton stopping the sweep attempt from Woodhall. Sexton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. This is a sustained period of stalling by Sexton. Woodhall is trying to keep Sexton in close.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sexton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Woodhall sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Woodhall wants to clinch. Sexton has his takedown stuffed and Woodhall counters with a two punch combo. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sexton drives through with a takedown into Woodhall's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sexton stopping the sweep attempt from Woodhall. Woodhall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sexton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Woodhall showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Sexton has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Woodhall is on him like a limpet, forcing Sexton back against the cage. Woodhall breaks from the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Woodhall trying to control the position from guard on top but Sexton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sexton wants to stand but Woodhall is controlling the position. Sexton is looking for a triangle but Woodhall pushes his legs off easily.
Woodhall stops Sexton from standing up. Woodhall wants to control from the top but Sexton keeps moving. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Sexton throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Woodhall lands a nice looking body shot.
Woodhall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sexton. Woodhall closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sexton quickly recovers to half guard. Woodhall scoring with strikes to the body and head. Woodhall wants to stand up but Sexton is controlling the position.
Woodhall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Woodhall is looking to take a break and control but Sexton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Woodhall seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sexton makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sexton. Sexton tries to strike from the bottom.
Sexton will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Woodhall stands up from guard. Let's bang! Woodhall gets a clinch. Woodhall tightens his grip and picks Sexton up, before dumping him to the ground. Sexton manages to land in guard. Sexton scrambles and gets back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sexton darts in looking for a takedown but Woodhall gets double underhooks and turns Sexton into the cage. Sexton dives in and grabs Woodhall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Woodhall pushes down on Sexton's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Claude Sexton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Woodhall closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sexton's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Woodhall decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sexton, up you get! Sexton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Woodhall makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sexton. Woodhall throws a sloppy head kick and Sexton moves out of range easily. Claude Sexton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dave Woodhall is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Woodhall stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Woodhall wants it to stay on the feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Dave Woodhall comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Woodhall winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
