Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rashad Patrick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edward Smith!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patrick moves out of range of the body kick.
Smith tries to clinch there but Patrick circles away.
Smith has taken the fight to the clinch.
Patrick could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A frustrated look appears on Smith's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Patrick's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Some bone on bone action there as Patrick checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Some wild striking there from Smith.
Patrick throws a nice looking combination but Smith bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith closes the distance and clinches.
Smith presses Patrick against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Patrick avoiding damage.
Patrick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Patrick blocks a leg kick.
Patrick changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Patrick dodges the punch combination from Smith.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Patrick seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Smith shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Patrick is backing up but Smith catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Patrick covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Smith Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edward Smith!
