Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darren Sarsfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Da Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darren Sarsfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Frank Da Tank!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sarsfield.

Sarsfield closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Da Tank did well to prevent Sarsfield getting side control.
Sarsfield throwing shots but Da Tank is blocking nicely.
Sarsfield is controlling the pace.
Da Tank is trying is best to control the position here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sarsfield seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Da Tank does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sarsfield has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Da Tank shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sarsfield napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sarsfield holds on and takes a little breather.
Sarsfield is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Da Tank tries to stand but Sarsfield is controlling from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sarsfield tries to close the distance and clinch but Da Tank swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Da Tank is trying to counter with his kicks.

Sarsfield is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sarsfield is fighting to break Da Tank's control of his arms but Da Tank is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Da Tank throws a lazy head kick
and Sarsfield cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sarsfield misses with a head kick.

Sarsfield is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Da Tank can do to turn this around?

It looks like Frank Da Tank has been cut.
Da Tank looks to score with a jab to the body but Sarsfield is just out of range.
Da Tank is still on wobbly legs! Can Sarsfield finish him?

Da Tank closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Sarsfield sneaks out the side door and pushes Da Tank away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Da Tank seems to have recovered his senses.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Sarsfield has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Da Tank throws a right hand that Sarsfield ducks under and follows up with a left that Sarsfield also avoids with ease.
Sarsfield closes the distance and clinches up with Da Tank, looking for a takedown. Sarsfield pushes Da Tank against the cage but Da Tank circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Da Tank shoots in looking for a takedown but Sarsfield manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Da Tank's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Sarsfield looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Da Tank with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Sarsfield tries to score a body lock takedown but Da Tank shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Frank Da Tank has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Darren Sarsfield is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Sarsfield. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Da Tank drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sarsfield pulls his leg out and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Darren Sarsfield showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sarsfield, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
