Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Carroll Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Van Tres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Tres has chosen Anberlin -Paperthin Hymm as his entrance music. Christian Van Tres will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carroll Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christian Van Tres!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Tres looks for a takedown but Henry sprawls well.
Henry appears to be looking for a big counter.

Henry rushes Van Tres and presses him up against the cage.
Henry has Van Tres pressed against the cage.
Van Tres is trying to pull guard but Henry turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Henry lands a takedown into guard.
Henry seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Van Tres wants to sweep here but Henry controlling him for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Henry slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Van Tres working a defensive guard but Henry passes into half guard.
Van Tres wants to get back to his feet.
Henry content to control rather than advance.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Henry walks into a straight right hand from Van Tres.
Van Tres closes the distance and clinches up with Henry, looking for a takedown. Van Tres pushes Henry against the cage but Henry circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Carroll Henry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Van Tres.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Henry has managed to clinch.
Henry working hard to break the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Henry's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Van Tres is trying to force a seperation but Henry has the dominant position.

Henry breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Christian Van Tres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Van Tres fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Henry tries to keep at a distance but Van Tres has taken the fight into the clinch.
Henry is pressed up against the cage. Van Tres has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Henry down to the mat. Henry avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Van Tres is defended easily by Henry.

Henry has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Henry lands a knee to the body.

Henry breaks the clinch.

and Henry counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Van Tres!
Van Tres tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The referee warns Van Tres that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Van Tres is trying desperately to improve position.
Van Tres is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Henry sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carroll Henry dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Van Tres shoots in and drives through. Henry sprawls well.
Henry is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Van Tres can do to turn this around?

Henry closes the distance and pushes Van Tres back into the cage.

Henry gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Van Tres wants to get back to full guard.
Carroll Henry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Henry with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Henry seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Van Tres for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Henry throws a one two combo.

Henry rushes Van Tres and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Henry slowing the pace effectively.
Van Tres fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Henry is looking for a takedown.
Henry trying to land knees to the body.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Henry takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Van Tres breaks the clinch.

Henry shoots in but Van Tres avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Van Tres tries to close the distance and clinch but Henry swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Van Tres throws a sloppy head kick and Henry moves out of range easily.
Van Tres throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Carroll Henry has been cut.
Van Tres throws a head kick that Henry semi-blocks.


Henry is rocked!
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Van Tres throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Henry is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Christian Van Tres!
