Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Currie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elroy Jetson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jetson takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Currie ducks under a wild hook from Jetson.
David Currie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jetson throws the left hand but Currie avoids the punch easily.
Currie looks to score with a jab to the body but Jetson is just out of range.
Jetson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Currie throws a left that rocks Jetson and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Currie dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Jetson regain composure!


Jetson is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Currie trying to control the action but Jetson is working from the bottom.
Currie just content to control the position.
Jetson is looking for a sweep.
Jetson is letting Currie control him for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jetson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Currie.
Jetson is trying to escape the position but Currie is controlling the position.
Currie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jetson is looking to reverse the position.
Jetson throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jetson tries to improve position but can't.
Jetson wants to control but Currie postures up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jetson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Currie stands up.
A big right from Currie misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jetson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jetson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Currie bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Jetson! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Jetson is still in real trouble! Can Currie finish him?
Currie wants to control from the top but Jetson keeps moving.
Jetson seems to have recovered his senses.
Jetson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Currie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Currie not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Currie wants to stand but Jetson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jetson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Jetson controls Currie momentarily but Currie frees himself.
Currie looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Currie trying to control but Jetson is working from the bottom.
Currie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Currie stopping the sweep attempt from Jetson.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jetson shoots in and drives through. Currie sprawls well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Currie lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Jetson sprawling to the canvas. Currie follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Jetson hang on?
Currie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jetson keeps working.
Jetson wants to improve his position but Currie is controlling well.
Currie wants to control but Jetson is keeping him busy.
Jetson is trying to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ground and pound from Currie.
Currie works his foot free and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Currie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Currie cracks a nice hook into Jetson's ribs.
Currie lands a left and a right that sends Jetson crashing to the canvas! Currie dives into mount looking to finish!
Currie cracks Jetson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Currie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Currie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Currie looking to control but Jetson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jetson is wriggling around trying to escape.
Currie putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Jetson is looking to improve his position but Currie isn't that keen on the idea.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A nice elbow there by Currie.
Currie thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Currie working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jetson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Currie off and cradles Jetson's limp body as Currie celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). David Currie!
