The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holyfield lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Jos Cruz has been cut.
Holyfield uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cruz has time to react.
Holyfield cracks Cruz with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Cruz is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Cruz is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Holyfield is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
OH! Cruz has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Holyfield smells blood and charges in for the finish! Holyfield unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Cruz sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Joe Holyfield!
In his post fight interview, Joe Holyfield started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
